Mitsubishi is known for creating some of the most innovative and stylish SUVs on the market. This year, the Japanese automotive manufacturing giants decided to kick things up a notch and create the Mitsubishi MI-Tech concept vehicle. The "M" in the name stands for Mitsubishi, while the "I" stands for Inspired, ingenious, and intelligent. When you combine these features with the "tech" aspect, you get a futuristic and innovative vehicle that is hard to compare to any other car available at this time. Keep reading to learn about all of the impressive features that the MI-Tech has to offer.
Futuristic Exterior Design
Mitsubishi describes the design of the MI-Tech as a "dynamic buggy-type vehicle." And, at first glance, it certainly looks like a dune buggy that has travelled through time and was brought back from the future.
The concept design comes with some incredibly unique features. The front of the vehicle has similar design qualities to the Outlander, however, there are some definite differences between the two vehicles' front fascia. The large front grille is adorned with a satin-plated colour in the centre and is outlined by the large T-shaped headlights that boldly sit on either side of the grille.
The body features four extremely large and raised over-fenders that perfectly accommodate the large diameter tires. The rest of the body is highlighted by chiselled lines and well-defined curves. The rear features a unique U-shape design on top and T-shaped taillights that elegantly flow from the rear bumper to the rear fender well.
Interior Design
The Mi-Tech's interior is even more futuristic and unique than the exterior. The interior features keyboard-shaped switches that are located on top of the centre console for easy access. The instrument panel is also in a horizontal design which makes it easy to access. There is also a touchscreen infotainment display that sits directly behind the steering wheel and acts as an innovative instrument cluster.
The interior is able to seat up to two people and features ergonomically advanced seats that help to provide an extra layer of comfort by contouring to the body. There is also plenty of legroom for both the driver and the passenger.
Power and Performance
The MI-Tech is presented as a plug-in hybrid. This sporty SUV will feature two independently controlled motors. One motor sits in between the front tires and the other motor sits in the back. The two motors will work together to provide power to all four tires and create an innovative 4WD system. The car will also feature a gas turbine engine that is said to be able to run on gasoline, kerosene, or diesel.
The new Mitsubishi MI-Tech is sure to be one of the most innovative and sportiest SUVs on the market. This impressive vehicle is still in its concept stage with no word on when the final product will be released.
